Well we are in!
Noticed boot not fully shut, so loads of tugging and keyfob action had the boot open.
Checked boot loom wires and all appeared okay visually.
Strip boot trim and found corrosion on one pin to the latch assembly, electrical cleaner and some thin lube on the latch had it working nicely, but did test it several times with the boot open as not getting caught again!
Also removed the upper bulkhead so I can gain access in the future.
