Someone might be able to 3D print you one from TPE.

I wondered if you could turn one on a lathe from something like an ice-hockey puck, or does it have to be 'squishy' type rubber?

If you can find something with the proper degree of elasticity, shove it in the freezer overnight and you ought to be able to turn it.

Looks like a wiper seal @Cobbler, either a "W" or a "WRP". A decent bearing shop should be able to get that in.

Is the ridge original? Or is it a deformation?
I'm asking because I replaced a tap washer the other day which had an identical ridge - and was replaced by a normal tap washer.

The ridge is original, that's what does the sealing. A plain one would work, but not so well, I know this as I've turned it over & tried it, this means the clearances are incorrect.

I tried that, but the flow of air picked up the o ring & it's now somewhere inside!

You could have super glued the 'O' ring to the disc with hindsight,

Just a side note; could the oil/lubricant used for the tool have rotted the seal? Not much help now but may be something to consider when matching oil/seal when you're fixing it.

I get lots of odd ball hydraulic seals off them. They will make some shaped seals aswell at reasonable prices

It looks like good news, I found the next model up the range on the Metabo web site, this shows a complete trigger assembly & seals that looks the same, all the 1/2" drive in the range shown use the same parts, so I'm assuming it's likely it's the same as mine. I've contacted Metabo & the assembly is £8 ish, but they can't confirm if it will fit, but at that money I'm willing to take a punt. They can't supply me direct, but there is a dealer close to us.
