Yes exactly that Steve. The damn things flex like mad at the slightest gust. I think if the insertion depth was an inch then the system would work great. Be careful on the edges of the sheets, especially ones which have snapped - they are incredibly brittle and sharp, much worse than glass.

If you do decide to flog what you have and buy new then feel free to ask, we did a lot of research before we ended up with a polytunnel.

It's twin walled polycarbonate and the wind pressure bows them allowing the edges to break from under the clips, they really are a rubbish system, they weigh virtually zero so have no self weight to hold in place.

Worse than solid sheet too. Moisture collecting in the 'tunnels' is not good, apart from the aerofoil effect.

Yep, saw that most of last year, I guess the internal channels will also start to turn green with algae sooner or later and just about be impossible to get clean again.....MORE future problems:

Think the decision is now made, the poly sheets are not going back on, even with the good suggestions others have made to help securing them.

Grip fill / similar adhesive round where the panels sit into, push panels into place, let it go off...it ain't going nowhere....

Didn't want to say earlier as it felt like p*****g on your parade but as you're not gonna re-use them it's worth mentioning that they also go yellow in the UV and become really brittle, opaque and sharp.

The clouding of the panels is not a problem, it acts as shielding while still letting light through and saves you the trouble of shading when the sun is hot and scorching your plants.

clouding of the panels is not what a grower wants, years ago I used to work at a commercial grower and we used to clean the glass with a mild acid every so often to avoid any loss of light
