Brazilian GP today, how amazing was that ?!
Vettel must have 9 lives, how he survived that 1st lap shunt and stay in contention to get winning points is incredible !
Youngest ever 3 times successive world champion, I think Schumacher could even have his record broken.

Yes, it's had it's up's and down's during that time ! I almost stopped watching it this season because Sky's contract compromised BBC coverage, glad I persevered though and it's all live coverage again on BBC next season ! The Turbo era still ranks as the best ever for me though !

l follow F1 closely, vettle has more than 9 lives, l too thought it was all over when he was driving backwards on the first lap, but no it all fell into place for him, perhaps you make your own luck in which case lewis needs to go on a refresher course on "how to make your own luck" felt sorry for him getting punted off like that but putting your self on the outside of some one going fast on a wet corner is likely to end unhappily ?
and why is he off to merc ? l think there is more to the "leaving" story that will emerge
over the winter, lots of rumors of Ron telling him sling his hook in temper, l think he will be back at maclaren at some point

is it back on the BBC next year ? all races ?
going to cancel my cable today only kept it for the F1, far to much money really

I thought they were contracted to move around. To make it look like to Joe soap it's their choice, when in reality they are 'owned' by one team, and 'sub'd out on loan.

To me F1 has gone the same way as Football: not that I watch the game. It's not a sport anymore

All I can say is that when the F1 forum on 301 closed last night there was a message under the BBC F1 log that said all races live coverage in 2013.
I reckon F1 inc realised they were losing audience as many stopped watching in protest over Sky sticking their nose in. I certainly didn't go to Sky, just struggled with BBC highlights and some streaming.
I've never been a Hamiliton fan although his attitude seems to have improved this season but I reckon he's off to Merc due to a VERY fat contract.
Anyway, new engine formula next season so it should shake things up a bit !

arnt the new engine regs 2014 not next year, he already had a very fat contract with maclaren common view is that merc want less PR duty from him but l think there is more to it that we havent heard yet

It's probably correct about there being more to Hamiltons move than has been revealed. It's no coincidence that Merc factory team and Mclaren use the same engine !

I'm with tigler - almost gave up on it when it was some live races, some highlights.
It was a b*stard avoiding, during the day, the results in races which were 'highlights' until they were screened, avoiding news bulletins etc.......

I tried F1 a long time ago and found it very boring. I have not bothered trying to watch it again since, it seems to be a team procession, in the main.

Ship-to-shore fettling of everything during the race seems to me, to take a lot of the skill out of driving 60 laps, or whatever, when everything would normally be degrading in some way. Certainly the drivers are skilled, but I would like to see them all in the same car without any clever bits involved. ?Would that not separate the drivers from the technology?

There are times when MotoGP,2,3 have a leader for the whole race and the field is strung out over a couple of laps, but after the start of the race, it is up to the rider alone to judge the situation and adjust his/her style of riding to suit. There is no way of rebalancing the brakes or traction to suit a lighter fuel load. Well actually, not quite true, that is what their brains are for.

I saw the Vettels' spin on the news last night and thought too, that it would be the end for him, but I have to admire the fact that he got to point the right way and got back to ?6th? securing the points for the championship. Well done that man.

?How often has a F1 race been decided by four drivers on the last lap vying for position, and not by the length of time spent in the pits? Yes, a serious question since the little I have watched would lead me to believe that very few are won by the leader of a group which have been together for the 60 laps of the race.

To see a group of five or six serious contenders in Moto heading for the same patch of tarmac for the win cannot be beaten.

There is no remote adjustment of the car in F1 now, and after qualy there is no adjustment to set up allowed, even if it's a wet race. Only the front wing can be adjusted at a pit stop during the race. I was against the DRS system but it has added an interesting variable. Plus they have limited number of tyres, no refueling, engine and gearbox life penalties and fixed engine management.

Now, being a lifelong biker my next comment is going to be a surprise. Moto GP is boring ! There are rarely any proper all or nothing dog fights and electronics have made the riders job much easier and less challenging.
Compared to the stroker days with Rainey, Schwantz, Lawson, Spencer, Gardener, Roberts etc, it's just dull !

Same could be said about F1 though but it has become quite exciting in recent seasons.

especially the last bit this goes for British Super Bikes and touring cars with I adore!

I watched the first race of the season but only watched two other races as it wasnt very exciting as BTCC or British rallycross.

If it comes back to the beeb i may give it another shot but the sky presenters were pants IMO

Dont be daft tigler Crutchlow and Dovizioso? they were at each other every race nearly and rossi defending against the likes of barbera was incredible

No, seriously, you won't find a bigger bike fanatic than me but although MGP is ok it doesn't make your spine tingle like back in the day. It was better when Rossi and whoregay were at it but generally it's too sanitised. In the stroker days they were lucky to get a tyre to last the race and there were often chunks flying off or the cords were showing at the end of the race. Then there was Rainey, Lawson and Scwhantz backing it into corners with the rear wheel several inches off the ground, 2 and 3 into a corner !!
I also think the TT is pants now !! No works bikes just TT specialists on modified road bikes. Doesn't even compare to when Joey was howling a factory RVF aorund !!

BTCC, pah, utter pants !! Look at some youtubes of the 80's when it was 500 BHP Cossers etc !!

Don't take me the wrong way, I'm not being confrontational, it's just that most motorsport has become to rule bound and commercial. Some worse than others.

I think im getting used to your posts and dont see you as confrontational at all mate!

As for the 80's 90"s BTCC they too were my favourites but in the last 4 years its been amazing too. Iv had a BTCC season ticket in the past but really prefer watching on tv as the coverage is so much better.

Moto gp has been a real roller coaster and BSB has been incredible if not better than MGP.

As for the TT i do agree that its now a media circus from what it used to be. I keep meaning to go but i now fear itl be full of blokes with squeaky sidi boots, brand new bikes and leathers that have mint knee sliders quoting rubbish like "your not a proper biker til you crashed" funny really as iv reidden since i was 8 and rode to work in the snow on my fireblade as id broke the diff on my discovery that year

I think it's me getting old
Back in the day (yawn ), there was a real difference in the machinery, distinct identities that made it interesting. The technical features seemed to be more profuse and made real changes to performance. And to be honest, riders and drivers seemed to have more guts !
Now, I can't tell the difference between bikes and even struggle with cars !
Motorsport is just gradually losing it's appeal to me, well, the televised stuff anyway.
Wish they'd bring back Rallycross and MX to TV !!
If I could convince myself to pay for Sky I could have more variety, like drag racing, Nascar and other international stuff but I have a serious issue with Murdoch !

Whe i went to the BSB at brands recently i couldnt tell the bmw from the blade and im an avid fan of the blade

you know l see a business opportunity there for you, distribution based, well redistribution really, lots of people on here would like a motor sport channel just need a techy to come up with a streaming page on here somewhere
