You'll laugh as well at how I got it going, Firstly, Dave guided me through testing etc (everything is bang on) then he guided me to wiring the welding supply, Then the rest I (kind of) figured out for myself, Remember how I had the fault of the contactor operating but no arc? Turns out the wire numbered 42 (Fan wire which is doubles with a loop), Well the looped end goes to A1 on the contactor along side the other wire numbered 42 which is for the GSV, So all in all it was about an inch of wire that held everything back 
Need to get myself some gas and some consumables (wire, Contact tips etc) then I can get some actual welding done on the old valver

Well so far so good with the welder, Been using up the mini spool of 0.8 wire I had (not practicing or anything, purely just to use the wire and give the welder a little test), Getting good penetration etc and I'm sure it will only get better as it has a 1.0mm tip, 0.8 solid wire and no gas lol.
doesn't trip out through the settings or anything. Will need a new ground clamp though as it, putting it simply had it. will post some pics up soon once I've got it all set up etc

So folks, I've been getting used to the welder and its settings etc and I have noticed the 'stitch on/off' knobs don't do anything, IE when either is turned the machine doesn't stop on it's own as it should. I had a go on a tradesmig 130 a while ago and when the stitch weld(iirc) knob was turned, when the trigger was squeezed the it would feed wire etc on it's own, then if the other knob was adjusted it would pause at the intervals set on either one of the knobs (sorry if none of this makes any sense, I'm not all good with wording 
)
Anyway I have checked both potentiometers for resistance and only one shows anything, the other shows up as OL on my multimeter. Am I right in guessing its the mentioned potentiometer thats at fault?

you say touch the feed gun, you mean pull the trigger ?
