i know im stupid but trying to fit a spotlight bar inbedroom and a remote controlled dimmer switch the wires i have are 3red 3black and 3green i have 3reds connected together and 3 greens and two blacks the other black that i know comes from switch is also in with the reds andlight wont turn off i know ive done something stupid

you need to connect the three reds together in a separate connection. the black from the switch wants connecting to the L on the fitting the last two blacks to the N all the greens (earths) want connecting to the earth connection on the fitting.

if your using a dimmer switch is the load large enough to operate it most have a minimum load , are the bulbs dimmable some dimmers are leading some are lagging and must be compatible

sounds like an incompatible dimmer/light to me. had it with my dads dimmer switch when he updated his lights from screw fit bulbs to downlighters. ended up just replacing the dimmer with a switch.

by rights u shouldnt load a dimmer up to its full capacity.do the lights work ok at full capacity if fitted with a normal light switch . is the fittings wired in correctly showing 240v ish when turned on
