I've been contacted by a fellow Morris Minor nut. He has finished (well, nearly) a 30 year total rebuild on a 1949 Minor. Almost everything is new or rebuilt. The problem is that suddenly, in the middle of buttoning up the fixtures and fittings, it has somehow made the car permanently alive...
So, with the regulator connected to the battery there is 12v between the battery earth and EVERYTHING, but nothing works. Even the power terminal to the starter shows 12v, although it doesn't turn. I've been trying to diagnose it over Whatsapp but that's less than ideal! I'm sure to be missing something obvious but wonder if there is a failure mode in the regulator (RF95) whereby everything goes live?
Banging my head against a wall with this one!!
Thanks
Rob
