No sign of a battery anywhere... as suggested, may use an EEPROM to save in instead (but that assumes it writes the positions on switch-off?), as it's Some Years Old the other placce to look for causes (without getting silly) is the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply and on the board (little coke cans) - any of them leaking or bulged? The Chinese had a big problem with their reliability some years ago, resulting in e.g. PC motherboards, network kit etc. giving up the ghost unexpectedly.View attachment 385710View attachment 385711
For completeness, here's the inside of the power supply, wasn't expecting the battery to be there, but not seeing it on the PCB....
