As a new mig welder owner and learning lots from this forum I am in the long (4 years) process of restoring a 1928 Dutch Barge.
It has now been stripped out inside, any trouble spots noted and now the fun begins. I have just successfully (thanks to this site) welded 2 x 13m 40mm angle bars to the port/starboard bilges replacing the corroded old ones (riveted on).
Now I am filling in the old windows with new 4mm plate. Any ideas how to go about this ?? the plates are big (1.5m x .6) and heavy!!
I would love to chat to anyone else working on their barge/narrow boat/steel boat..
No sugar in my tea thanks...
