Any alarm engineers?

On older systems you need 6 cores to the bell box, 2 for strobe, 2 for the alarm and two for the anti tamper.

The pcb in the panel will be marked, on the terminal rail, fairly obvious whats what.

Your passive has 6 also if done properly 2 for 12v supply, 2 for the circuit, and 2 for the tamper circuit.

Id suugest getting an instruction book on line for the panel, they are all slightly different when commissioning bell box. Also for resetting factory settings and clearing the non volitile memory. Some have a link, others used a key sequence.

Im well out of touch now, it was all a long time ago.

I'd second switching to dual-tech sensors; I had standard PIRs on the workshop and probably half a dozen times a year I'd get false triggering. It usually seemed to coincide with high wind and patchy sunshine so I concluded the triggering was caused by intermittent sunshine reflecting onto the PIRs then being obscured by cloud.
Switched to dual-techs and have had three falsies in about 10 years, once due to a trapped bird and the other two as far as I could tell to large wasps buzzing about the place.

Right, sensors in and working. Problem now is I only have 4 cables to the Bell box, I need two for the 12v+_- and two for the bell, so wondering how to connect them? Looking at the panel I have I might be able to connect then Sounder output to the strobe?

What panel and bell box are you using, do you have instruction diagram, sometimes connecting strobe to bell output can blow the bell fuse

Panels a ADE Optima with no digital display, bell box is a Defender ( Texecom Flashguard)

Cant find a terminal diadram for your bell box, but looking at what I think is your panel diagram, id wire it with out the strobe, test and prove it all works, then id put the stobe across the 12v+ve and the -ve trigger. Strobe and siren load should still be same load on the bell fuse.

It pays to buy panel and box of the same make, makes connecting up easier.

i 2nd its worth replacing both pirs if you get the chance as over time i do belive they seam to degrade

we had 3 at work what i installed 8 years ago but over time one started causing false alarms and always in the middle of the night get a call and and hour later back in bed with 1 hour less sleep

swaped out the one that was causing the problem went fine for a year plus started to have the same problem with another pir soon as that done it once i just replaced the other 2, 3 years later no late callouts
