On older systems you need 6 cores to the bell box, 2 for strobe, 2 for the alarm and two for the anti tamper.
The pcb in the panel will be marked, on the terminal rail, fairly obvious whats what.
Your passive has 6 also if done properly 2 for 12v supply, 2 for the circuit, and 2 for the tamper circuit.
Id suugest getting an instruction book on line for the panel, they are all slightly different when commissioning bell box. Also for resetting factory settings and clearing the non volitile memory. Some have a link, others used a key sequence.
Im well out of touch now, it was all a long time ago.
