I decided to empty the compost bin i have in the back garden today, the ones you put your kitchen/garden waste in, i needed the compost for a new flower bed in the front garden. Anyway i popped open the little door in the front and there was billions of bleedin' ants in the thing. Went into the kitchen and boiled up a kettle of water, that helped.

I know snakes like it hot but lets hope there wasn't one hanging out in there I think boiling water would be too hot

I've got ants infact I've got ant Vegas about 6 nests my Mrs don't agree with my method of wanting to douse the lawn with petrol and setting alight to it but as soon as she's away were having crispy garden and maybe the house to as long as I move me tools should be a ok me thinks lol

I came back from Pompey last week to find my back bedroom alive with flying ants. Emptied an entire tin of fly spray into the room and closed the door. Next morning just hoovered them up.
The bloody things nest every year under the patio outside the room (it's a bungalow), seems they've been tunneling through the wall and come up through a crack in the floor screed (there was sand along under the window). Looks like I may have to lift some slabs and get to the root of the problem...
