Tea-lights only last an hour or so, so who's going go go out to the workshop every hour through the night?
24 tea-lights per day sounds expensive to me
The tea light heats up the flower pot therefore radiating heat for a lot longer than the time it took to heat up., a bit like an oil burner heating up a pile of bricks/wall.
Been done plenty of ways, but perhaps the naked flame puts people off. It is not like we do not use scarier stuff every day.
