EASY paper round, You must be joking. When I delivered morning and evening papers (at 12 yo) I had to collect em from the train 3 miles away,take back to shop, sort em, then deliver for an hour. Had to keep the bundle on my head to protect from FALLING SHRAPNEL !! All for 50p a week!!
Then after national service have worked for ME for 45 years and it wernt easy !! More hours than would ever be allowed now, and as for HSE, who's that ?

Started my paper round on a Sunday, 2 bagfulls and took me nearly 3 hours, nearly didn't go back for the Monday round, about half a bag and got it down to 30 mins, stayed there for about 4 years.

haha im still 35 years off 50!! im glad iv got a "proper job" not shoving bits of eggzadurated newsprint through my own door...

I never had a paper round but did have a grocery round on one of those bikes with a large basket over the small front wheel.

haha im a metalworker not a ****** einstein though i do wonder sometimes

I had to do the milk round, hated winter cold empties and steel crates, was better when they went plastic. only good thing about about doing it in winter was the tips at Christmas

Even so... I did 13 deliveries a week for £1.25 when I was 14... in 1978!

talk about been hard done 2 i started my apprentice ship on £2.50 for a 40 hour week/ christ i wouldnt even get out of bed for less than a fiver now

Ok, lets run down the list...Right eye's fecked, Bottom five spinal discs fused, two knees replaced, two shoulders replaced, joints removed from the base of both thumbs, nerve removed from my right foot, three heart attacks leaving me now with heart failure and type two diabetes, Gout in my left elbow, and just been diagnosed with Chronic Diverticulitis.......good job I'm being buried at sea...BTW best of luck Taitsie, a very good friend of mine has just gone through all that.
