I'll bet you're getting close with this, @Dozzer . The interruptions in the sprocket would be very helpful in an extremely dirty environment.Edit, only time i can think of seeing stuff like this is on combines & planters where an interrupted drive may come in handy, but wild guess.
Good guess, but I've overhauled more combines and planters than I care to remember and never seen anything like it. I like the conveyor idea with gaps for the bars, but again, never seen one like that.42 tooth sprocket, for .404 chain with bad dental hygiene.
Honestly don’t know but will be interesting to find out.
