Another what is this tool?

I was repairing the bent shaft on this tool for a friend:

Quite a neat design, an expanding mandrel that would perhaps be used for removing a blind bush.

The owner not sure what its for, though was acquired when he was in the REME and they were scrapping all the old BSA B40 special tools, perhaps one for @oldbikedavey ?

You could get a rough idea of the bearing/item it is supposed to pull by measuring ID of outside, OD of expanding part and depth of recess.

Internal bearing puller probably for a specific job. Used similar on classic Mini idler gear bearing many times as well as radius arm bearings

Could it be this?

From the "Automotive clutch" section of the GM Bedford 220-230 series industrial diesel engines, talking about changing the spigot bearing. Diagram is a bit dark to see properly but might be about right, though not exactly the same.

(No, I know nothing about them, just googled Z8527 - https://www.numeralkod.com/cross/ar...ford 220-330 series release no. 220-330-8.pdf ).

There's nothing about that one that implies BSA... All the service tooling required really amounts to just the clutch centre extractor....

Unless you need to split the flywheels , that's just about the sum of it...
