Another what and Where

hi guys, i know you lot get asked this all the time but what is the best gas is it really Argon/co2? and what %mix ? or doesnt it really matter?
Where is the best place get this from in the stoke on trent area Apart form the obvious boc + Air products!

I use Energas. There's an agent in Newcastle so pretty local.

Reasonable-ish, I believe.

64 quid a year rental, for a 'midi' size, which is a waist-high cylinder. I recall a new cylinder is about 25-30 quid. This size cylinder is easy enough to chuck in the back of the 90 and take to the agent to swap.

If you're welding mild steel sheet metal work (ie below 3mm) go for Argoshield Light or equivalent (5%CO2, 2%O2, balance Argon), a higher CO2 content will produce an arc which is too hot, producs a lot of spatter and can be hard to control
