My J&S 540 is in storage and next time it sees the light of day there will be no 3 phase into its home. It has a 0.25HP vertical feed* motor, 0.75HP hydraulic and a 2.00HP spindle. I have never had use for drives but will be needing a few more of them soon.
The 3 motors on the J&S are plated as running on 220v Delta or 380/420 Star so no cutting and soldering of windings involved to run as 220v 3Phase. I would sooner be able to run and stop the table/lube pump and spindle independently but can manage without. The vertical feed* motor is a problem that may require a separate puny VFD because it runs only when the lever is engaged.
If I ran the hydraulic and spindle motors off one VFD of 5kW which I already have an Emerson product I would fit overload trips and loop them through the run command line.
Suggestions, trips and slips please.
If someone was to throw a 240v single phase motor for the oil pump through my living room window I would likely still get my calculator out to see if I was ahead on the costs. (for the throwing through windows of wound wire electrical products see "Adam Ant alternator", everyone has their moments eh)
*more correctly a rapid drive as its not an incremental movement
