Hi,
I think I have read pretty much all the trailer threads on this forum, but I haven't found what I am looking for!
I am thinking of building a twin-axle trailer from scratch, but one of my biggest problems is what hubs to use on my trailer's trailing arms. I had looked at using rear car hubs, as some of them are bolt-on to a rear subframe, therefore easy to attach to a trailer's trailing arm suspension and I could use the handbrake mechanism for the brakes. However, as the trailer will be built in 2025, i can't pass for a pre-2012 build
, so I will need overrun brakes which I cannot do with car hubs.
The other idea is to use the hubs off a plant trailer or caravan, but i'm unsure how easy it will be to separate the hub from the torsion bar suspension (which I don't want).
Does anyone have any ideas for suitable hubs?
The trailer will have a 5-metre bed, 2 metres wide.
Regards
James
PS Yes I will get it IVA'd
