Just to let you no ive ordered a new capacitor.
I rang clarke and they have all the part for there old machine and post out same day.

I was given a broken Clarke pressure washer last week and when I took it to pieces the start capacitor was suspect so I went to a local electric and electronics store with it and asked if they had anything similar. One of the same spec but smaller dimensions cost me £8 and it fixed the machine. How much are Clarke's spares ?

The capacitor from clark was £24 somting pence plus vat 
but at least its working now.
