Ok been spending again and just picked up a 1980 lightly customised kawasaki Z550.

Needs some small TLC and also a head gasket repair but other than that there isnt much, its just a repair project and then thinking on putting it on ebay.

I also pickup the bike at the weekend as im in the middle of building a trailer using an old caravan chassis, iv got some pics of that so il post up to show what iv been busy with

    some pics of the bike

The Z750/4 had a reputation for dropping valves if you over-revved them :o

its not something i would do myself but i know the previous owner in his words "chopped the tail" and fitted a custom chrome unit to it will have a closer look once i pick it up

the only thing iv really thought about with both the bikes iv bought is making a trike but never attempted to build one before so no idea how to go about doing it

it did? I mustnt be trying hard enough :D

What that little 550 needs is a turbo... and maybe some more modern forks, and a nice swingarm. Then it'd be rude to not do the wheels for wider stuff with bigger brakes...
Then you'd have "dave sausages" lovely little 550 :D

i dont think il be going down that route as i hant got a bike licence, so prob just a repair and tidy up project and then sell it on as it looks like a decent enough bike for someone to enjoy

dves bike looks like it would be good fun but also looks expensive for what he has done to his in that pic

well iv now got the full gasket set cheap on ebay so it will only be a day or 2 after i pick it up to fit the head gasket which isnt to bad, just need to hope the snow up in scotland clears a bit to drive through to glasgow to pickup the bike and get it back to dundee

also finished the trailer after sheeting it with spare sheet that i had lying round its not the finished board i will be using but need to get it so i can use asap and once i pickup the bike i will finish it properly with better sheet board

pics to folow asap of finished trailer
