Another newby after advice

Hi All,

New to welding but have time to learn and practice and probably enough spare steel around to play with, Been looking around and seems Tom Orrow is the main man so have been looking at his site.

I'm after standard 13a supply MIG, bodywork through to chassis repairs up to 5mm I guess and general welding as I get better, I'm a Scout Leader so could be asked to fix trailers, racking and anything else once they know I can weld. So want somethng that is easy to set up for a beginner but of a decent spec to last years.

Budget is max £500 for a bundle as will need the basickit as well as the welder.

So what are your recommendations?

I appreciate the response and have done lots of searching but again so many people have different ideas on what seems to be the best beginer welder, or should I say easiest to set up and learn on. I have looked at some of the reccomendations but guess I just need to talk to Tom as he seems to have the better deals and also want to be sure it's not a chinese rip off. I was originally looking at Clarke or similar but have been persuaded away from that after reading up on here. I also saw that people don't seem to set budget and use so thought by adding those it might help.
GYS are the ones I have been looking at but wanted to know hwo these differ from the Parweld if that is easier for someone to answer?
