another newbie first ish attempt

a question of gas or TIG rods was raised a few posts back.We tell the difference between rods like this at our evening class.TIG rods at college all have a flat end with the rod type stamped in raised letters. Unlike the gas welding rods which are all round with no flats. Is this the industry standard ?

yes, rods will be stamped, Ni, AL, SS, MS etc are all marked with there relevent no.s
