another newb question, wire at bunnings

heya all, i hope everyone has been well...

I am welding 25mm 2mm thick RHS
machine is a supercheapauto SCA 180AMP MIG
i am using .9 flux core for this job, no gas, polarity swapped, voltage setting on1 (1-6) and amp (wire) 3 (1-9), Heaps of spatter, wont pool, wire speed erratic. Pulled it down to the liner, very luittle air getting thru wire liner... hoping to go down to .8 to solve feed problem?

1. which is the better wire to buy?

2. did i do any wrong putting .9 wire into when .9 is the max? I got down to the last few meters and am having huge wire feed problems...i am hoping .9 will help it...

As above, your welder is not that big so turn her well up.
Make sure your feed rollers are not slipping,
but do not put them tight enough to deform the wire as it will
feed badly if and may be not at all as it could stick in the tip.
Ensure too that you use the right sized roller for your wire.
I do not use flux cored wire, but if none of the above sorts out
your problems, try a smaller wire, maybe a smaller wire is better
suited to your welder size and someone who uses such will
offer advise regarding so.
Make sure too that what your welding is clean, and your
earth connection has good clean tight contact with what your welding.

solved - spool adjustment dodgey - wingnut grabbing, tightening and strangling feed rate...accentuated by the small .5kg reel but the 5kg wire-spool adapter doesn't grab... many thanks for your replys, power is now a respectable 2(1-6) 4(1-9) which is still a tad cold but i am preheating....
