Hi all,
Came across this amazing forum when debating with my partner whether to have her mini professionally restored or to do it ourselves. Between the information here and on the mini forum we have decided to take the plunge. We are both mechanically minded but apart from encounters in my youth with some hazardous arc welding, when the bailer twine wouldn't hold. We are both beginners.
From reading this forum and experience of their other products decided that clarke is the best way to go, but like other new starters I have a quick question about which model.
Want to go for a higher amp mig than the basics as likelihood is I will find other things to weld apart from the car, already got my eye on the gate! and will definately be getting bottled gas given the amount to do. So looked on machinemart and found the 130en and the 151en both of which are £199 and come standard as no gas but seem to take a regulator for gas so should give me plenty of options.
I only have access to a standard 13 amp socket so my question is will both be ok on this if I change the plug fuse and dont crank them up to full power, in which case I think it makes sense to get the 151en. Also does anyone know of a good place to get metal from for patching and practice that is close to sunny WSM.
Thanks
Willde
