If you reply 'Stop' to any of those texts you'll get bombarded with a million others as they then know the number is active.

I get loads of these calls, like others I never answer an international number but being in business cant really afford to ignore withheld or unknown, as are some genuine calls that come through a companies internal phone system and withhold the number, I've had some fun winding them up in the past but now just stick the phone next to the radio speaker.
Usually I google the number to see what people have to say about it, then block it in the phone, currently have 90 blocked entries.
Just googled this one and there are no hits at all.

What a load of rubbish, it's just another facebook chain hoax that's getting copied to forums, like you've just done.
Did it tell you to "forward this to all ur friends"?
Just block or ignore the number.
What I find annoying is these calls that are automated so you cant keep them on the line or fire off abuse at them

seem to kill some of the automated ones so maybe they are monitored or have some intelligent recognition system.The latest ones are a call from a so called industrial workers office, or industrial workers clinic, they ask you if you have ever worked in industry, then if so you get offered a free hearing test at a local hotel, then depending on the results of the test you are introduced to a no win no fee bod, who then tries to sue all your previous employers.
Kept one of them going for about 5 minutes one day, saying "speak up" pardon, can you repeat that please etc, in the end he called me a name I wont repeat on here and hung up.

I have nearly 120 entries saved in my phone as 'NO'. Various companies that won't take no for an answer touting for business. We don't accept salesmen into the office without appointment so they sit outside and ring up (and get ignored). 
I've told the story before, but one of my lads (in his van) was hit in the side by an artic. My name on the insurance docs - at the height i was getting 4-5 calls a day from ambulance chasers. The lad was fine and after a couple of extra fags went back to work but they were determined he was due many thousands.
Ambulance chasers make my blood boil and i'm ashamed to say i got very shouty and sweary at them.

Me too. Anything 0843 will be one of these parasites and I take them up on their kind offer of speaking to a droid. I then let them know exactly what I think of them. I have had a few lately flagging INTERNATIONAL though, probably because they know that the time may be up for them. They should be unlawful before too long, due to the distress and annoyance they cause.

Actually, I have had 2 calls from this number recently. The first one I answered without thinking and there was just silence, the second one I missed cos I was in the bog. I had a bike for sale on FleaBay recently, so I'm guessing that's how my number has been targeted.
To stop ALL of the International calls to your home phone and most of the others ,buy the new phones made by BT . I have just bought a BT8500 , it has a integral menu which allows you to block INT calls ,withheld numbers ,calls from phone boxes and even specific numbers etc. I paid just £35 but had to activate caller display from my supplier [Plusnet .99p a month . £1.75 a month from BT]. Virtually all the scam calls have stopped , I get absolutely no International calls or withheld number calls but I do get the occasional recorded PPI claim call . Well worth the money .

Hmmm I hope not. Unfortunately I've no way to find out either, cos my phone bill is only available online, and I've never figured out how to log in to check it! Pretty crap for a bloke who makes his living in IT!
