Partner came downstairs today on the stairlift. Got off at the bottom and I heard a 'crack'. She only pushed down too hard on the very end of the arm and split the top casing! great. Initial inspection looks like it is only a cover, but stops the bottom of it, also plastic, from flexing too much. )The way the forces are applied, the split will want to pull itself apart,. My thought is to fibre glass the inside of it. Hopefully it should work. If it does. It will be in the 'things I have fixed' thread!

Thanks for that @Cato It's only the top moulding on the arm that is broken though. It was made in Kingswinford that's all I remember. at least 15+ years old. I like to get my monies worth out of stuff. It's a bit too cold for fibre glassing today, the resin was a bit thick, but seemed to mix ok, the mat didn't want to wet very well. I only do the very occasional glassing so I'm not much good, but normally goes ok. I'll try anything once!
