I replaced my up and over with hinged doors. If you "flip" your layout to the other side will the garage door clear the tailstock when it closes? You may / will have to reduce bench height to allow access to change gears.

yep thought of that pretty sure will be easier but it will require the removal of the shelves at the back of the garage I have a few things to work out lowering the bench is not really an option as the tool Trolley adds a few challenges and I need to properly plan this.

Colchester Triumph 2000 Lathe Taper Turning Attachment crazy price but looks close to the one I have I thought the M250 and M300 had the same saddle dimensions

Started disassembling the top slide today and the toolpost and top slide is soaking in in GUNK ULTRA ENGINE DEGREASER
Oil channels are dry but they had red grease stuffed in every nook and cranny

Length is not critical. All it does is tie the angled slide of the TT to the bracket that's clamped to the bed.

The reason it is lost is that it is the piece you remove to disconnect the TT attachment for normal turning. So for 364 1/2 days every year, it sits unused in a box somewhere. And then you spend 11 hours of that remaining 1/2 day looking for it, in order to spend 30 mins. turning a taper.

Buy 500mm and cut it off it it gets in the way of anything. Face, drill and tap the end of the bit that is left and the end of the bit you cut off and join back together with a long grubscrew if it is needed in the future.

That is my thought as well although in my lathe's case parts circled in red were in the extra cabinet, Initially, I just chucked in a drawer that holds extra unidentified bits that came with 2nd handmachines.
Now that I've identified the parts they will go in my dedicated drawer for the M250.
I will use my square ER32 collet to machine it

It is an up and over door
Moving the frame forward is not an option it is already pretty close to the front edge so this may compromise brickwork
I have considered the Roller door but that is reserved for Ladders and steps and weed eater

Looks like there is room to extend the garage forward by a yard or two - problem solved!

No sorry, I do have the complete setup on my M300 so need to keep the bits even though I have not needed to use them, yet

Looks like there is room to extend the garage forward by a yard or two - problem solved!

That was why I tried to remortgage a few years ago extend the garage and build an Orangery but this ruffled a few feathers and impossible demands were levied.
In the end, it did not happen I love the neighborhood it is very quiet, and when you wake up in the morning with birds and a bedroom window with a view of trees you suck it up.

If I were to make one anew, I would ream the 8.3 dia. hole maybe 10mm and use a thumbknob with a 10mm plain shank to secure it to the attchment. Then you have a tool-less disconnect rather than needing a spanner.

To the OP: you may have seen this already, but part 312.021 (on the TT diagram) is made with an eccentric stub, so you can adjust it both in-and-out and up-and-down to align the rod nicely.
