My mate is building a bigger shed.
In the old shed the electricity was supplied by an extension lead that hung out of the kitchen window, was tacked on to the wall of the house, has an overhead run of about 8 feet, fixes to a large wooden fence post and runs down to the shed.
He has decided to do things properly this time and have a run taken from the main consumer unit to a fusebox in the shed. He's got a mate, who is a sparky, to have a look at the job and he's wanting to run an underground cable under a patio, down the garden and under a concrete path to get to the shed because 'It's easier'
I was wondering if there is a reason that he wants to go for an underground run ie. overhead cable is a big no-no or if he's just being awkward?
