Why not, there is no point fitting connectors on a cable that will never come off again.The lead should be held on with a strain relief, glue a grommet to the cable usually.
Ideally, you wouldn't solder the stranded cables either, if there's any space, the better solution is to solder on a spade terminal and crimp a mating connection on the cable.
You also use the grommet from the tool and the cable is clamped inside the tool forward of the grommet so there is no strain on the connections.
