Angle Grinder recomendations?

Look for Dewalt 900watt grinders on Fleabay, usually about 50 quid as 'reconditioned under guarantee' stock I have two of these one over four years old.
I tried Makita, it blew up after 6 months and the lead was horrible, very stiff and too short.
The dewalt ones have lovely long leads and they are so soft, lovely for whipping yourself with, plenty of reach. Oh and they have a quick release so you can adjust the guard, didn't know that even existed, but very useful when you are grinding upside down or in your face.

Will be buying number three soon, it is great to always have the right thing on the end, cutting/grinding disc and flap wheel.

I have a dewalt 115mm grinder ,the lead needs repairing tho

lovely soft lead , bit too soft in this case

That e bay link ... good little shop(about a mile away from me ) like you say good for recon tools ... they seem to do some great deals on new discontinued power tools as well
Had great deals in the past with milwaukee stuff from there

I think Milwaukee is one of the best, I changed from Makita and Aeg a year ago and have had no probs at all. I Bought 4 2 x 9" and 2 x 4 1/2. Excellent machines

have many grinders makita bosch hitachi dewalt the milwaukee seems to be the toughest though in daily use on building site keeps running. has less vibration than the others also.

I have a 1000 watt Wickes pro with 5 year guarantee £49 its an animal of a 4 1/2" the cable is a bit hard but otherwise it seems good.

I now have 2 18V cordless Hitachi 4 1/2" as well, I misplaced the first one and was sure i had left it at the parents garage.
Phoned Father and he assured me it was not there, So i ordered another one and a battery £135 yep you guessed right he phoned a week later to say he had found it on the bloody bench in the garage

They seem to have the power of a 600 watt but fairly chew through 3 amp hour Lion batteries of which i now have 4!

Another one for Bosch blue here. Use one at work for linishing every day. It's light and small, easy to use one-handed, and takes some abuse.

At home I have a red Site made by Makita bought from Screwfix. Mine's the 110volt as I bought it for site work (got a transformer already) and they're doing them for £22 I believe at the moment. It survived a few drops off truck trailer roofs (i used to build custom-made horse transporters) and has faired well.

I also have an old Power Devil Argos special bought for about £25 years ago. This is a bloody monster of a thing and has kicked back and bit me a few times . It's scared of nothing and could probably withstand a nuclear blast, but it eats carbon brushes

On the Bosch blues I opened one up for a clean, regrease and general health check. I was impressed with the construction, it's all easy to take apart and everything looks replaceable.

It's ~10 years old and has had some use but there was no play in the spindle bearing, no obvious wear in the gears, the brushes still have several millimetres left and the commutator was in very good shape. Despite the outside being caked in brick dust there was thankfully little inside. The grease in the gears has started to go black and had migrated away from the gear teeth so I cleaned it out and filled it right up with moly grease.
