Only goes to show what sort of price Screwfix must pay for them in the first place, I'm quite sure they won't be losing money on them!!!

Not so sure. As has been shown only a few were available. Probably only a promotion to get people into the stores.

I have noticed lately I am getting more regular posts from them. I assume it's part of a big sales push.

I saw it on Hot Deals UK so probably lots sold since it was posted on there. I did check they were in stock in a couple of places as some companies like Argos continually have stuff on the website which isn't in stock anywhere.

I didn't get one as I have Tesco one I got cheap and an Aldi one. The Aldi one is soft start which I think is much better. Def recommend them, even at full price.

I have never heard of the Sparky brand but glad a few people got a deal. I love a bargain. Just got in from Tesco Stretford - Slumberdown single, 10 tog quilts reduced to £9, but went through the till at £7. Cupboard is full of 20p wrapping paper bought after Christmas. Managed to stop myself from going to Boots on Weds morning when all the sale stuff went to 70% off.

Today's Deal of the Day at Screwfix is 33 Erbauer screwdriver bits for £6.50 if anyone is interested. Don't seem to get the handle..... Lots in stock round here.

I have never heard of the Sparky brand

I'd never used anything by them, until I got a 1/2" 12volt impact driver a few years ago. It proved to be a great little tool for whizzing off & on inspection plate bolts in work (M10) - there were loads on each machine and it saved stacks of time. Not loads of torque but just enough, and really well built. I wouldn't hesitate to get another power tool from Sparky, I'd put them as somewhere in between the top end Pro stuff (Makita) and the DIY stuff - not sure how accurate this is, just my opinion.

I bought one similar from Lidl a couple of years ago, At the time the price was £7-99 including 3 of the metal discs that have tungsten/synthetic diamond cutting edge for tiles etc, The volume these huge retailers will buy for a fraction of the selling price,

That's the trick. I've wandered into Aldi and found stuff on special/clearance that was advertised several weeks before.

I guess that marketing works - they aim to get you in the store every few weeks, and it's offers like this that drag us back.

But definitely don't take "we're sold out" as an indication that the kit will never again be offered at that price - I reckon it's a deliberate ploy to hold stock back to get people to keep visiting the stores.
