Angle grinder guards

the guards on my grinders never come off. i like my fingers where they are.... and i get very irritated when i see ‘influencers’ on youtube and the like with no guard on their grinders, making people think its a good idea...

I've no time at all for these so called "influencers". From what I've seen and heard about them, they are simply being paid to promote a product, without actually knowing it to be worthy of promotion. "infuencer" is just a flash name for "Advertiser."

Absolutely!! I wonder how many thousands of people have embarked on the hobby of metalwork or woodwork etc., after watching some videos on YouTube.
YouTube presenters really DO have a duty to demonstrate and practice safety in all their videos. If they are demonstrating a method or a procedure, surely that has to be shown to be performed safely -otherwise they could be seen to be giving out dangerous information and guidance.

If I see someone grinding with no guards fitted or no eye protection, - or if I see somebody welding while wearing only a T shirt or similar on top (and even bare legs), I stop the video and move on. I cannot trust learning anything useful or safe from such a person. If they cut corners on safety, what else do they compromise??

Yes - always - i have a 'workshop' baseball type cap on most of the time and a welding cap on when . . er . . welding.

I use those if i feel the need.
Tbh, my hair is so thick, that most of the time i don't bother.
I just cut out the burnt patches as neccesary.
