Android car stereos - help me choose

Watchout with some of the android units.

They use the phones microphone when on blue tooth for calls.

As its going to be in her pocket, bag, glovebox etc. The sound will be terrible when making calls.

My costly unit has its own mic, the cheap one does not.

Mine has a mic in the bezel just below the SD Card slot but there is also a jack socket for fitting an external mic if required. There was previously a Parrot handsfree in the car so I kept the mic in place just in case I needed to plug it in but the built in mic seems to be good.

I’m a big fan of proper audio, not seen an android unit I would buy however

Best way is to decide on the features you want/need then look at the units that do that, then look at price

You will need the proper microphone. The bezel mic is usually on the LHD side of the car and even that is marginal. Move driving to RHD and it will just pick up far too much noise.

As I said it works fine, no complaints from anyone I have been talking to and for the first few weeks I asked everyone that I talked to whether it was clear or not and all said it was excellent. The other half said it was clearer than the previous mic on the Parrot.

Mine has too in my car.

The one in the minibus does not.
