That's a carriage return symbol at the end of a line in word processing programs. Could be writing the messages in Word then copying them to the forum or something like that.

Actualy that ↲ symbol is a carriage return, cos at the moment I'm posting via my I phone as my computers are down. My desk top has a virus and my daughter has pinched the mains lead off my lap top, so I can't recharge it, and I an doing all this on my I phone and I haven't quite sussed it all out yet.
