I won an ancient "AGA" arc welder on Ebay, plate says "SVEISETRANSFORMATOR" and it appears to be 200A,but it weighs an absolute ton and the transformer is huge.
I don't currently have any welding rods, but for a couple of inches of rusted rod in the torch,I tried it on a mid setting and promisingly it sparked up but then blew the 13A fuse in the plug...
Can I test the output with a multimeter to check it's working OK,or should I just get some rods and hope for the best?
It all seems to be original and unbodged, but apart from replacing the tired power lead what should I do to ensure that it is safe to use?
