This is on my workshop door which I now need to lock. It is a Chubb (now Union) old mortice sash lock which is going to cost £70 to replace due to its imperial dimensions (approx 40mm backset in funny money). I have a box full of assorted keys but none of them will operate it. Would a key cutter like Timpsons be able to examine the leaves and cut a key to suit, do you reckon?
I know that I can mod the door for a metric lock, but that is wasteful and my pockets are deep, yet my arms are short.
