Ammo Box catch pins

Hi All,

I have a few ammo boxes that I am cleaning up - i’m planning on getting them soda blasted so I can repaint.

I just wondered about removing the clamps for the lid, to make it easier but I have no idea what the pins holding them in are, and if there are something that can be replaced. Any ideas what I should be looking for?

Or would it just be easier to get them blasted in situe?

On a side note, anyone know of any blasters in the Sheffield area?

I know them as hollow point rivets.

I have had similar boxes blasted with hinges and catches in place no caused any damage, But the last few metal chaests i have done i have just used a medium wire wheel in the grinder then a smoother brass one, It leaves a nice polished metal look with a bit of patine then i let a bit of rust creep back and wax, Its not for everyone but it drives the shabby chic ladies wild.
