No age limit. How old does the student have to be?
So my grandson is eligible then?No age limit.
It would be discrimination under the equality act 2010 - and I know at least one law student () who would sue them for it if they tried.
So my grandson is eligible then?
Sometimes the law's just mental, so you can legally get a girl pregnant at 16 or even vote in the Scottish Independence Referendum but you have to wait until 18 to buy a alcoholic drink or sign up for Amazon Prime.I think you have to be 18 to sign up - that's not age discrimination, but because under 18s can't form a contract.
Yep.Sometimes the law's just mental, so you can legally get a girl pregnant at 16 or even vote in the Scottish Independence ********** but you have to wait until 18 to buy a alcoholic drink or sign up for Amazon Prime.
Yep.
Or get a car licence at 17, but can't sign a contract to insure it.
it's awesome deciding I need something and having it waiting for me when I get home the next day. I believe they now do 2 hour delivery on some items!
you have to wait until 18 to buy a alcoholic drink .
I dont use amazon, but saw something about Amazon key on tv last night where you buy a smart lock but allows them (and others) to enter your property to make the delivery......how many here will be using it.
think I'll stick with my post "box", so on my front door I have this

and on the box in the fence I have this

and they can leave parcels in here

works well for me, if I buy something that needs signing for, I do get it delivered somewhere else.
You can have an alcoholic drink at 14 if it's with a meal but I'm not sure if you need someone over 18 to be there
Even though we have probably one of best legal systems in the world it's amazing how many things we think are laws when they are not. I pretty sure there is no law that says any child can't drink alcohol, it's just that they can't buy it.
Alcohol can not be given to people under 5 even in private, see section 5 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1933 available at http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo5/23-24/12
The laws on licensed premises are covered by the Licencing Act 2003 section 150 for consumption on the premises http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2003/17/section/150
Also do not make the mistake of thinking that just because there is no statue against something you can not be convicted, for example there is no statue against murder in England and Wales.
There are however a lot of common misconceptions, like a lot of places including newspapers and the BBC make reference to an age of consent for having sex yet there is no such thing in England and Wales
u should know by now all threads go on and on and go off on a tangentA thread about Amazon Prime becomes a thread about the legalities of drinking alcohol
