Amazing rig for digging post holes

just found this on ut. Wish I'd thought of it. Do wonder how it would copewith wet ground though.

I imaging as long as its not to wet or clay based it might work for a while.
They are replacing lots of gas mains around this way at the moment. They have a bigger more industrial version, suction pipe about 200mm and what looks like a few high pressure air and water jets. Goes through the ground nice and quick saves lots of hand digging around existing utilities.

Same here - I live in an old quarry so ground is full of rocks !

cant see that been much use in most places, to me looks like it'll dig very sandy soil with small gravel and nothing more challenging, a good root or rock and thats going to stop

A Grundomat would do that job in less time and remove nothing, it would also do it in stony/bony old ground. Cant see the fascination in this gadget at all, if the ground is that soft two clumps with a post knocker would be quicker.

that's really what u need in your back garden to replace 6 posts from the ridiculous to the extreme just get a spit a pick and a 3 foot steel wreking bar

my neighbor has a hydraulic pecker with a tube ended attachment on his mini digger, they just slip it over posts and hammer them in with it. They put hundreds of posts a year in with it.
I just push mine in with the jcb bucket because I'm not rich enough to have a demolition hammer, it suffers the same issue as the holey moley in that rocks impede progress, but it manifests as the post exploding when that happens which can get exciting.

It would work well around here if the ground was dry. We've 4-6' of alluvial top soil

It would do six inches here before dying. We are in an old sea bed, six inches down and your hitting stones the size of footballs. The machines not a bad idea though, just limited use
