Hi all,
Im just wondering if im flogging a dead horse & hope someone could advise.
Background - I'm building a bike (first chopper i've done) and i am keen to do as much of the work as possible. There are some bits I will have done by a pro (structul parts) but some of the brackets i want to weld to the frame myself.
The issue im having is welding solid bar to the tubular frame (4mm wall approx) i've got good welds on flat sheet but my first attempt, with scrap, to do solid bar im not too happy with. I cut through the weld after and could see where the join was. (image below). Am i correct in thinking not enough penetration. The welder is on max and it sounds good crackle wise when im welding. The welder is only a clarke 135t.
