Aluminium advice

Don't think so busa, but only because the best weld i did was just before the torch broke.

Had a stab tonight because i was getting impatient, not great but i think i'm beginning to get a feel for the crap ali. The first pass i did bubbled and spat and looked awful. Let it cool and ran the torch over again and it improved greatly, looks like 'buttering' the headset edges will be the key.

If i do a headset that looks half reasonable i'll stick a piccie up :welder:

Bit of an update, getting better with practice. Set the welder slightly more EP, dropped the amps a touch but moved the torch in a circular motion as opposed to a straight line with slight zig zag. Gives the ali a chance to expel the gas rather than trapping it inside. Starting to think my tig welding needs some professional guidance (present company excluded :hug:

) rather than expensive practicing...

Anyway, seems to be working better for now, thanks chaps :welder:

A little tip:

Make sure the red O-ring (as seen in the picture in the rearend cap) is not damaged. It tends to fall apart if it's gets too hot.. It causes oxygen to mess up the gas, and the weld gets messy. (my english may not be the best(norweglish))
