According to my bible, left terminal is s = charge sensing middle is ign terminal and far right is L - lamp. Two pin plug may be rev counter but without the serial number that is pure speculation..

Armed with the info so generously provided on here (OK, a bit mixed..) I had a chat with a couple of guys who restore old motors locally. They looked at the diags and said to just connect up the cables, giving me the Lucar terminals and splicers. Box of beer going to them...
Car now running and charging at 13.8 v. Neighbour delighted.
Only catch, I quizzed him (after looking at the accessories belt) about the cam belt. Car has done 400K km. Belt changed at 120K, 250k, but not since. I did wag my finger a bit.. He drives it fairly gently and not just short trips, as he has a business about 30km away. Still.. on the edge..
