I used to own old fords, never had to pull stem seals off since they were usually non-existant by the time you got to replacing them!

I use a electric breadknife to cut seat foam. I carve away at some old donor motorcycle seat until its the shape I want, then I just put a thin layer of crumb foam over it to hide my workmanship!
Its really quite effective, better than anything else Ive tried (no not tried hotwire, you cant hack lumps out with a wire)

yeah i'd seen that on TV some where, much easier to keep straight than the air saw and long blade.

i have a main stop valve key as a long drift, and i once had to use an old spanner to strengthen a chassis leg joint.....
