Ironically though, I always found the item, (those flexi tubs), which got borrowed most by blokes, was the pink one. Not the green or blue, but pink.

Nothing to do with pink, sadly, but I got roped in to going to Currys with MrsH to buy a new microwave. Obviously I was there just for the heavy lifting. Two microwaves, both exactly the same model, black one £200, white one, exactly the same except the colour, £100. WTF is that all about?

Buy the white one and a small tin of black paint for a few quid

Yeah makes you wonder, premium paid on popular colours I guess.

Years ago when white fridges was all that was available, then Black/Silver came into their own, exactly the same model, paid more for Black/Silver.

But this colour pricing premium still goes on, on a much more smaller scale phone cases, identical but depending on colour, you can pay £3, 4, 5 more.

Don't buy black or any dark colour appliances. Impossible to keep them clean.

My mates missus bought a new coffee machine the other day and now he has to buy a new fridge, kettle, toaster,microwave etc to match the new coffee machine. She gets a new fitted kitchen every second year aswell. They're up to their eyes in debt but can't figure out why

Yours reminds me of something that happened to me many years ago.

We were called out to a large bungalow to give an insurance quote.

Bathroom, burst pipe, come through the ceiling, quick enough job, the bathroom was mostly tiled, ceiling down, replace ceiling, plaster, two coats of white paint and any clean up required.

Simple, oh no, the lady had other ideas, her reasoning, ( trying it on with the claim ), was as the new ceiling paint might not match the rest of the property, she was going for a full decoration job for the whole of the property.

I left within five minutes.

I knew someone like that, people used to queue up to buy the one coming out. Ours is 25 years old, no plans to change it.
