Well, tiny back story...Wife is having some checks, one is a camera (possibly a box brownie) up her bum.
Anyway, tomorrow she has to take a strong laxative so is expecting to spend the day reading a book in the smallest room.
I decided about an hour ago that I needed a wee so if I plod, do the biz and flush......and the handle comes off.
Opened the cistern up and the square bar has twisted and snapped. Quick online and everywhere that could possibly sell a flush handle is closed.
I went up the shed and started rooting around, eventually managed to find 2 small offcuts of 12mm round bar.
But a (rough) 45° on both and fired up the stick welder.
Not used that for about 5 years, might be longer than that.
Found a few manky 1.6 and a few 3.2 so decided on the small ones.
Bit of cleaning up and cobbling and grinding and it's working.
I'm not sure it'll last but it's just gotta survive tomorrow.
