You can create any tungsten shape you want. If you want a large ball on the end then on a piece of copper or Alu point your tungsten directly at it with max ep% and fire it up. Try different preps/current/%ep and see what results you can get.

I ask about the tip shape as back in this thread the advice was to grind a taper and back off the ep to try and keep a taper on the tip and concentrated arc? Worked fine for me. But if I can have a balled end then happy days! I could run higher ep unless there is a downside to too much cleaning? I am down around 25- 30% at the mo.

I do this on my old transformer set, I put a shallow taper on the tungsten with a broad point to make it light the arc easier if I turn the amps down.
