i dont know about that but screwfix do the whole range hss for not a lot of money quallity as well

They're not bad I've had a set for some time only used them on wood and ali so far, a slow battery drill is the answer. So never had to replace a cutter so don't know about the arbours...

Funnily thats what i was comparing aldi to,screwfix sets have a good reputation on here ,i have a few old starrets as well but have lost the larger arbour ....Gav

All the holesaws i have ever used have been a standard fitting , i think the 25mm and smaller use the smaller arbour , the rest use the quick hitch arbour . Their not hss so wont be much use on mild steel /stainless .

Ive got a set of the aldi ones and ive used them on wood and mild steel so far and they've been fine,think i only paid a fiver for them when they reduced them the last time.

would an ordinary drill be going too far for holesaws in box section?

I have found my aldi set very useful, have cut 3 inch holes through 3mm chassis hollow sections using a £10 tesco corded drill.

The drill packed up after about 5 holes though (was an old and well abused drill), the cutter is still sharp as a sharp thing though

As for whether they are upto the job, doesn't really matter the arbours are worth more than the asking price

erm ,,,,,well spotted Dr ......as for the arbours that was my thinking and its easier to borrow a cutter from work and still leave an arbour in case they need it at work ....will probabley get a set at this price for emergencies Gav

I've cut through propane bottles with my Aldi hole saws and they are still going strong. Oil the cut line as you progress and don't try to speed your way through but work in bursts if using a hand drill. These ones were from Aldi a couple of years ago not those Lidl ones but they look very similar.

LIDL were sold out .......i came home with toolboxes instead .....Gav
