Did these go dead within 3 years ?

Yes, 3 did, the saw was outside the 3 years but had had very little use.

did you staple the reciept to the booklet that came with the tools and did you put them in a safe FINDABLE place so that when they did go belly up you could get your cash back ?.

Errrr.....that's where I may have slipped up

Don't leave the reciept in sunlight though as they are thermal printed and will fade, mine did when I wanted it!

Quite true,but we learn from our mistakes err well sometimes.

I bought the linisher on sunday, I have been quite pleased in the past with aldi tools.

However, the linisher is very poor, took me ages to set it up so the belt would run true. The belts that came with it are very poor, the join is a straight overlap so as you hold your work to it you can feel the join as it passes, and when you apply any pressure at all the belt slips or the motor slows to a near stop

I think I'll just use it exclusively to sharpen tungstens, as it is not really capable of much more
