Aldi angle grinder £18, maybe cheaper

Just bought an Aldi 125mm angle grinder. Quite impressed - soft start I think they call it, you hold a button in with your thumb then grip the other button. Four speed, 3 year warranty. Feels much better and sturdier than the basic Tesco own brand one I got a few months ago.

Best thing was the shelf edge label said £18, but went through the till at £15. Also had packs of 4 flap discs for £4 and some grinding discs too. Not guaranteed to be 15 quid everywhere as Aldi prices are sometimes set by the manager, but they weren't marked as clearance or anything, in fact I think they are newish stock.

I don't think they have been a regular offer, I get the emails of the offers and no sign of them.

I think Aldi sometimes gets limited stock of something and simply allocates it to a few stores without any advertising.

It's annoying because I actually prefer aldi grinders because of the trigger. It's easy and stops when you let go, just like all the 9" grinders but none of the other 4.5" ones!

I think they were put out last week, Julian. Not sure that they were old stock as there were lots of them and lots of the discs too. This was in Sale, Cheshire. Some stores have a system where you can ring head office and they can tell you which stores have stock, but I suspect Aldi won't have a central system like that, but could be worth a try.
