I've just spotted that they seem to have gone up a fair bit since I bought one four years ago, its a good tool and hasn't let me down but I only paid 169 quid for it
I have a big Hydrovane and Woodwind Bessie but the little cheapo does most things and is easy to chuck in the pickup
they had both compressors in the aldi i went in today i resisted temptation
i nearly brough the retractable air line but i took it out of the box to look at and the hose is poor quality pvc stuff, I have better vac lines on my L200
Today I installed the latest compressor offering from Aldi in the works van, a 14 cfm air compressor, it is powered by my 5 Kva diesel generator. I run it up to full pressure (115 psi) and then used a blow gun to lower the pressure until the motor re-started (about 85 psi). The generator handled the restart with no problems at all, happy days here...
The V2 twin pump is significantly quieter than a 50 ltr single cylinder unit which I use in the garage.
For 170.00 quid for a 14 cfm compressor with 3 year warranty you can't complain, ok its not a 14 cfm industrial belt drive jobby, but at the price it's valve for the money.
I bought one of the 3HP Aldi compressors last month and it's been very useful for numerous jobs. I got some of the air tools too. The compressor is quieter than I thought it would be. It hasn't blown any fuses but we do have an old fashioned fusebox as opposed to breakers. I've seen the same style sold by some well known suppliers and it's nearly double the price!
All in all good value for money. I went in my local Aldi's today and they still have some left which surprised me, I thought they would have all sold out by now.
